Welcome! 
The Mo-Kan Chapter of the American Business Women's Association was chartered on April 27th, 1980 in Lenexa, Kansas. This chapter and many other Kansas City chapters in District III are members of the Kansas City Area Council which meets quarterly to brainstorm and share ideas.

During our tenure, we've continue to evolve while providing scholarships to local college students, and educational opportunities, business and professional support to our own members. Our current membership is approximately 35, made up of professional women from many types of businesses.

How do you feel about networking? Are you energized by the prospect of meeting new people? Or does the very notion send you into fits of panic? While at times, networking may feel intimidating, stressful or awkward, now is the time to sharpen your networking skills.

Alana Muller, president of Kauffman FastTrac and author of "Coffee, Lunch, Coffee", will share an immediately actionable approach to networking for anybody interested in connecting with others, getting involved in their community, seeking to advance their career, or looking to build social relationships.

In this session, you will get tips on how to bring out your "inner negotiator". Learn practical insight, success stories, and strategies you can immediately apply whether negotiating for your next job or a vendor contract.

 Speaker: Mary D. Lewis, Sourcing Manager at Sprint, is the founder and president of The Negotiating Academy. She is an expert in negotiating both in business and as a member of the boards of two Kansas City area not-for-profit organizations. She is also a Mo-Kan member!
