Fundraising & Community Activities
Mo-Kan participates in various fund raising events each year. These help fund educational
scholarships and member fees for annual conferences. Traditionally, we sell Farmstead Nuts and
candies in the fall months, and we host an auction in the spring (see the Dinner and Auction page). We also have big yellow trash bags plus yard waste bags available all year!!
Chapter members participate in various community events including holiday gift wrapping, refreshment booths, clothing drives for women's shelters, and public television phone marathons. These activities give everyone a great opportunity to make a difference in our community.
In our 2010-11 chapter year, we donated household items and clothing to Hope House in December; in the spring, we celebrated members who donated to tornado relief, and we collected and delivered clothing to the Women's Employment Network.
In December 2011, we collected gifts for the Freedom House in mid-town Kansas City, a shelter for homeless women.
